Medica is one of Bolger’s Top 10 accounts, and is the largest HMO in the state of Minnesota. They provide health care plans to business and government employees, labor unions and to individuals in the Upper Midwest region serving over 1.2 million members.
 
Bolger was awarded the Medica contract for commercial printing, print on demand, creative, mailing and fulfillment three years ago, and has delivered cost-saving solutions to Medica in paper savings, destruct items in the warehouse and in billing procedures, while maintaining quality and rapid turnarounds.
 
As an example of Bolger solutions, Medica’s Center for Health and Aging (CHA) was having difficulty with customizing kits, with some having a combination of static pieces and some custom pieces dependent upon client needs. The previous Medica vendor had problems in getting the right information into the kits for specific clients, despite efforts to provide “sample” kits. CHA brought the fulfillment of these kits back in-house to ensure their correctness and fulfilled them by pulling in their own employees from other projects.
 
Bolger listened to CHA’s needs and worked with them to develop a virtual kit program using part numbers for reference which allowed CHA to create a variety of kits which could be customized and changed whenever desired. As a result, their kits mailed out with the correct and necessary information and allowed CHA personnel to focus on their primary jobs.
